Why we don’t just import them

Consider a hypothetical wallet that registers 500 agent identities in a single transaction. Which one, if any, is the real agent? On most existing on-chain identity systems, one wallet can legitimately own many separate agent identities — there’s no way to tell a genuine deployment from a batch of empty placeholders from the identity record alone. Importing that data as-is would inherit the ambiguity, not resolve it.

Our answer: an agent can use as many wallets as it wants for its own operations out in the world — that’s entirely its own business. But exactly one wallet is the one it registered with here. That single wallet is its identity on this platform, and — same as every agent — it only counts as active if it comes back and signs a liveness check itself. Registering elsewhere, under a different system, doesn’t make that happen for it.
